Deep in snow

February is approaching rapidly and this is good news. Still a couple months before spring is here and i hope we won't get too many harsh weather temperatures. January has been quite cold, especially last week with some -38. I was glad i did not have to go out much. It's been snowing every week, sometimes just a few flakes, but still, it is always so beautiful to see the snow falling gently. There is another snowfall this morning and it is very windy. As i am writing here, i peek through the window and look at the snow drifting in huge white clouds. We had a lot of snow this winter...I should go skiing. Have to find my skis. It is still such a mess in the basement. Many boxes unpacked and i feel too lazy to clean the place. Have other things in mind. I am actually working on a few orders and one of them is just about ready to be shipped. I just hope the lady who receives it will enjoy her purchase. I would be devastated to learn of a client's disappointement.

I received a bird feeder this year for x-mas. I was really happy, because i did not have any and i always loved feeding birds and watching them flying around happily. I do not understand though. Something is really strange. My husband fixed it outside almost a month ago now. i filled it with sunflower seeds and waited impatiently...Nothing....Not one single bird came. The funniest thing is, i see them ! They come on bushes nearby and i can hear their chirping. Don't they like my seeds ? I even fixed a whole block of suet filled with nuts and fruits and i told hubby, " now with this yummy snack,they won't be able to resist very long "...Nothing...Still no bird... I scratched my head, frowning in wonder... Maybe they decided to boycott my feeder ? Or maybe the lady who lived here before was a bad witch ? A bird killer ? Hummm, maybe i am getting carried away with my, oh so fertile imagination ? Hubby said " put up a sign...sunflowers seeds, FREE !" Arggh ! Any ideas anyone on how to attract the birds ?

I am knitting mitts like crazy in my spare time and i thought these would be good accessories i could include in my etsy shop. I just love knitting and lately, it is all i wish to do. But i know i must work on some more dolls as well. I started making a few, i just need to dive in and work more seriously. When i am deep into my work, my imagination soars and i tend to forget i have to stop and eat. In a few weeks, i will post some pictures of my new dolls and my knitting.

Well, time flies and i must go to the post office.

Wednesday came with another snow storm. I beleive this one was the biggest this winter. But nothing compare to the one we had march 8th of 2008. It snowed heavily from midmorning 'til the next day. Oh, how Anna would have loved to see that. I think she would have spent hours sitting by the window, staring at the blowing snow whirling around in circles. Most people here are already starting to complain and even though i envy Anna's little paradise, i cannot help but admire the beautiness of the falling snowflakes. Around 7pm, hubby, my daughter Anne and myself dressed up warmly with big boots, ski pants, warm woolen hats and the like and headed outdoors. My man got the snowblower out to clean up the driveway while i helped shovel for the entryway who was buried deep in a soft billowy blanket. We went for a walk and some houses still had their x-mas lights on. It looked so magical. Hubby even changed his mind and said i could turn mine on because it looked so pretty that night...

Just before christmas, i received and award from a very very sweet lady.

I was really surprised because i beleive there are so many beautiful blogs to choose from, other than mine who seems so plain ordinary...And neglected. I was even more surprise to receive a second one this week by the beautiful Anna

and that made me feel so good inside my poor little sensitive heart... Thank you to both of you, you are so dear to me. Receiving awards such as these is a very rewarding feeling and it also implies i have to pass it on to other gifted person. Oh, what a difficult decision. There are so many i really like, i could name more than just a few.

Well now, i am still alonein the house today ( just for a few hours ) so i think i will cuddle up on the couch with my woolen shawl and knit for just a wee moment.

That's it...Another Christmas has passed and i feel it just flew by so rapidly...I have some difficulties leaving it behind. In fact, all my x-mas decorations are still hanging all around the house, and i cannot get to reason myself and put everything down. I know, i know, just give me a few days, just a few more and i will stop acting like a baby and do whatever has to be done... Going back to " normal life " is always so hard at first, but i guess i will feel better after a while. I have to cheer up thinking i have tons of project awaiting and i have to try and realise some of them before the warm weather comes back. I know as soon as spring is here and all the snow has melted, i will be outside digging new flowerbeds. But that is still far away and in the meantime, i want to reorganize my new studio, paint the kitchen, the ugly bathroom and maybe my bedroom and create some new stuff for my etsy shop. In fact, i should give this a priority. I am not taking my little business seriously enough...Argh, should have not said that...I promised myself a whole day of knitting and now i feel guilty knowing i should be working instead...Hummm...But there is always a tomorow, is there ?

Ok, today some knitting and tomorrow some sewing... Gotta make some bunnies for Easter.
