A month or so ago, i was contacted by one of my customer who is a great fan of my muffinpies. She asked if i would agree to make 8 muffinpies

for her. She needed some extra items for a craft show she is going to attend to in Louisiana. I agreed happily to work along with her. I just mailed my package to her yesterday, along with business cards. She said this would be a good opportunity for me and give my shop more exposure.

She was very excited when she saw the end results as i listed them in my shop for her to buy. She mentioned i had out done myself and i thought humbly that i had worked very hard and that indeed the faces were more or looked more professionally done. Anyways, i am happy she likes them all and i hope my muffinpies will be a huge success. :) You can see some of them here and also two little girls you will find listed in my shop

I have new muffinpies ideas for christmas and i can't wait to get started. I want to dress them in winter clothing, but i am not saying more. I will keep you posted on that. Christmas is not so far away and i am getting a bit anxious as i am overloaded with work. I am or trying to get ready for a christmas show december 6th ( oh boy, i see THE DAYcoming much too fast ) and i still have to fill up my etsy shop. I know i will make it through, i always do even if this means i will end up to an almost total exhaustion state. The problem with me is i lack organization. I have always been kind of a bohemian nonchalant type and i jump from one project to another, not really knowing where to start. The last few days before the show, i get into a panick fit,mumbling to myself . I look like a total freak. Any advice anyone on how to be more productive ? Next week i will come back and show you a very special gift i received from a friend. She is an absolute darling, a very talented artist and i feel so privileged to own this beautiful piece she made for me. I wish i could show you now, but i still did not get the time to take some pictures, so be patient my friends. Tomorrow is shopping day for me. Hubby said i MUST take a few hours and buy some new clothes. My wardrobe is in a very poor critical state and although i just hate shopping for clothes, i have to admit he is right. I am beginning to be ashamed to show myself in public on the rare times i go out to do some errands. Today i went to see my hairdresser and have my hair cut and with some new clothes to wear, i will be a new person ! How wonderful , he he !

A couple of weeks ago, i received a blog award from a very nice person. I meant to blog as soon as possible to pass this award to some wonderful blogs i have discovered over time, but i have been and still am actually so busy, that i find it harder to come here and blog. I miss it though, i love to blog, to spend time reading other blogs. This post will be a bit short as i am short on free time and want to pass this award to others who deserve it even more than i do. I also want to say something about this lady who honored me with this award. I will give you the link to her blog, but she shut it down for some time because she is going through a very difficult period at the moment. It made me really sad to read her email and i wanted to help her feel better, but not knowing how...And then i thought, maybe if everyone of you reading this post could drop by her etsy shop and leave her a little note from there. She may not email you back, but i am sure she will read your thoughts and hopefully this will make her feel a bit better. We all need support through difficult times, so be generous ? Finnigan's Market

Everyday saturday is Finnigan's market for the quaint little town of Hudson, QC. Many vendors gather there each week end to sell their products, from baked goods, to dried flowers, antiques and crafts. And once or twice each year, i love to go and sell my dolls and handmade sweets. Yesterday was particularly cold. I woke up early to find a hard frost covering the ground and thought it wise to wear my winter boots and coat. I also brought a thick wooll blanket to wrap myself when i get some free time to sit down a bit. The sun, a bit shy i must say, managed to warm us during the afternoon. Nevertheless, the crisp autumn air made me feel good and i was happy to spend some time outdoors, admiring the beauty of the surroundings. The trees are still spectacular, but soon the remaining of the leaves will sadly fall to the ground. We must really make the most of what is left of this beautiful season, the snow may start covering the ground anytime. Here in Quebec, we never know when winter will surprise us. One christmas, i could sit outside wearing only a light sweater, there was no snow and the grass was still green. But i admit that was very unusual.

My day at the market was really fun and i met some very wonderful and friendly people, venders and buyers. It is a good place to make sales , but also to promote my shop and my coming christmas show. I handed out many business cards, hoping that some of those who seemed pleased by my crafts, will come at my show in december. From the moment my summer vacation were over, i practically locked myself inside my sewing room, making muffinpies, cute little pouches and halloween stuff. One of my favorite was Romilda the witch and she was adopted very quickly. I felt a bit sad to part with her, but then i can always make another one for me...If i ever find the time. Having time, i wonder if i know what this really means. ( smiles ) Starting this week, i must work double shift making christmas stuff for my show, i have 8 muffinpies to finish for a sweet lady in Louisiana ( a true fan of my muffinpies i should say! ) and i must take care of my shop as well. All that and the house chores, shopping for chritsmas, cooking for christmas. Boy, when will i have the time to shop for clothes or even to have haircut ! My wardrobe is in a poor critical state as for my hair.... well...I can find no words...Ok, i promised to find some time and go for my hair soon. In the meantime, before i end this conversation with you, i urge you to pay a little visit to pepperberry and Co.

50 sales !

I finally reached my 50th sale today ! I know, this is no big deal, considering that many etsians have made hundreds, even thousands of sales. But no longer than a few months ago, i was hardly selling anything and i was even thinking of closing my shop . I am more confident now. It is a slow progress, but with determination, hard work and imagination, i beleive it will get even better. What do you think ? I need to mention here that i have been honored by a sweet lady with the one lovely blog award. I want to express to you, dear friend, my gratefulness and happiness for choosing me. As soon as i have a moment, i will pass this award to some wonderful ladies who deserves to be discovered. I am working double shift at the moment. As a matter of fact, autumn is always a crazy period for me. This week end, i will attend a craft market and i will bring some of my etsy listings and halloween goodies i made especially for the market. i promise to take pictures and show you later next week. And starting next week, i will start making christmas goodies to list in my shop, but must make a lot as i will be having a christmas show in december. I will tell you more about this later on in another post. It is getting late and i am starting to have droopy eyes.

This is a new painting from my so talented daughter Genevieve. I think she is a true artist and i am so very proud of her. :)

I am leaving early tomorrow morning ( wednesday ) to take our sailboat back home. The engine is finally repaired, the only thing now is to get it back to it's place. ( the engine of course ) I cross my fingers that everything goes smoothly.
I will be back sunday or monday and i just can't wait to get back in my studio. I have many ideas i want to work on and more muffinpies on the way :)

Since my return home, i spend a lot of time working in my studio. And when i feel the urge to relax a bit, i dive in the pool to try and relax my tired muscle and to refresh my hot skin. August is very hot and no wind at all. August is always like that... No wind...The nature seems very quiet. I don't really like August. Of course, i do enjoy the warm weather and the sun, but i like windy days and i miss them. And i feel summer is almost gone. The kids will go back to school in just a couple weeks and i am amazed to see how summer flew by so rapidly. Mind you, we had no summers this year. Very frisky and rainy. Anyways, i was just passing by to show you some of my new Muffin Pies and Petite House series. I have listed them all in my shop
I am actually working on some little pouches and pencil cases . I bought some nice japanese fabric and as soon as i am finished with them, i will post some more pictures for you to see.

Lost at sea

Well...I am back from my sailing trip. I was away 2 weeks rather than 4. Our trip did not really turned out the way we wished it would. We never reached destination. :( After our third day of our"voyage ", the sailboat engine gave out on us. Now, some of you reading this will say, " but it is a sailboat, no need for an engine ? " All sailboat needs an engine. Ours was a 4 cylinder, a big machine weighing 400 pounds. To reach our destination, it takes 3 to 4 days and we must use the engine. We had to follow a channel much too narrow for sailing. To make the story short, there was a big oil spill on the cabin floor, the engine was losing oil very quickly. It is a good thing i decided to go down to get something. I can only imagine how much more terrible things would have turned out if i saw the problem later. My husband stopped everything soon as i told him. We had to call the coast guard and were towed and taken to a marine shop where our boat is still there, waiting. We stayed there for almost 2 weeks, hoping the engine would be fixed soon, hoping it was nothing serious. It took days before we could find someone who knew about inboard diesel engine. The expert said it would have to be taken out of the boat and send to another shop for repairs. The list is long, it has to be completely rebuild. It will take close to 2 weeks before all is fixed. So our daughters came by car to pick us up and we headed back home, leaving our sailboat behind. There ends our trip... We will have to go back, next week, or the week after and sail back home.
Hubby is sad. He was so excited to leave. I feel sad too, but at least we are safe.
So... I reopened my shop and this week, while i am home, i will list some dolls and work on some new ideas. Summer is still here and even if we are not sailing, i want to make the most of the warm weather and enjoy the pool.
I will be back soon i hope with pictures of more muffinpies and raggedies and cute little houses i made in july.
It is getting late. I must go to bed. Although i think i will go for a dive in the pool before i put my jams on. It is very hot and humid tonight. The cool water will help me put to sleep...

For the past 2 weeks, i have been so busy that blogging became almost a chore rather than a pleasant moment. I have this part time job , working from 5am to 8pm 5 days a week. Getting up that early is not always easy, ( i get up at 3:30am ) but i have been doing that for almost 7 years now. What i like about this job, is that i get home early and still have all day to create, garden, do house chores, ect.

My husband and i own a sailboat. And we met this guy who owns a sail shop. He makes sails and repairs old ones. He is an artisan, being the only one in Quebec doing his sails the way he does. His studio is small but cute, overlooking a small lake where small sailboats abound. Thing is, working all alone, he was overloaded with work and needed a helper. I was not really keen on the idea, but he was so desperate and said he needed me for 2 or 3 weeks. So i agreed to help him. I thought i would hate the job, but i find it interesting and somewhat enjoyable. He offered me to be his year round "helper ". The pay is good, i would work 2 days a week and i could quit the other job. That means no more getting up at 3:30am ! I hesitated, but then i thought it was an offer i could not refuse. All that blabbering to tell you that i did not quit the other job. I still have to get up at 3 and work the 2 jobs. It is very long and exhausting hours. I know this was only temporary, but i am neglecting my shop, my family ( i have been cooking them terrible meals for 2weeks ) and my gardening. When i got home this morning, i was so tired that i almost fell asleep when i was driving. I decided to take a day off. I called my friend to tell him i was sorry, but i had to stay home. He is very comprehensive and told me to take it easy.

So here i am, taking a moment for my friend bloggers . I missed you ! :)

I still have a hectic schedule today though, having to pack for our sailing weekend, clean up the house, do some sewing, hoping i can list a few things in my shop today and cook a GOOD meal for poor neglected unhappy hubby. Whew !

I will try and be back next week. Until then, i wish you all a happy warm and sunny weekend !

May flowers for me...

Several days ago, i was sewing happily in my studio, when i heard the front door slam and then heard hubby calling out to me. "What is he doing here ? " i thought to myself . He came to my studio, knowing i was probably still hiding there and to my pleasant surprise, he was holding a huge bouquet of lilac. " Oooooh" , i uttered in delight. This is for me ?? Hubby is a lineman for the hydro power. He was working nearby that day and could not resist picking these flowers for me.

He looked like a proud little boy, kissed me on the cheek and ran back to the front door yelling "see ya, have to get back to work" Now that is so romantic. He made my day and i just went on with my sewing, a silly grin stamped on my face.

I ordered some decorative cotton tape from friend Anna, ( visit her lovely shop ) and i just love all of them. ( wait 'til you see my new collection of muffin pies ) i added a piece of one i had her custom made for me, to the fabric house i am giving away. I think it makes her look even prettier. By the way, i will extand my giveaway until wednesday june 3rd, so more people get a chance to participate.

I have been so extremely busy all day long with my gardening, that i almost forgot to post about my giveaway. It is nearly dinner time and i thought that i would take a minute and do it now. This is probably going to be my last giveaway before the summer season. I know i will be spending more time outdoors and that will leave me less time for working indoors.Ok now, enough of my blabbering, so here it is.

I had this idea in my mind for quite a while to make some pretty fabric house and i came up with this one as my first try. It is not quite perfect, but it is nonetheless pretty, i guess. ( don't really like the button though ) I am actually working on some more little houses that i will put in my shop sometimes next week i hope. This little house can hang, but you can also use it as a pincushion if you wish. I was thinking of changing the button, but if the winner wishes to keep it, just mention it to me. Otherwise, i am still thinking of something else. I am open to ideas by the way :) SO... All you have to do in order to participate, is to leave a comment. I will pick the winner thursday, may 28th. Hey, by the way, it is my birthday this coming thursday, the 21st ! :) humm, wonder what hubby got for me... It's been hiding in the linen closet for almost 3 months!! Last week, i have been really sick. Well, it kind of started slowly last thursday with a scratchy dry throat and it felt as though i was really thirsty. I took some vitamins and drank lots of water, but on saturday, it hit me real hard. I felt terrible. I was coughing badly and my nose congestion got to a point where i thought i could hit my head on the wall to make the pain go away. I stayed home all week, did not go to work ( hubby's orders ) . Hubby even insisted i go to the hospital, but i refused. We almost got into a fight. I am such a pig head, but then i knew i could at least try and heal myself. Once you are sick, there isn't much to do, but eat properly, drink lots of water and rest, rest, rest.

I do not remember being so sick before, except when i had my pneumonia many years ago. I am not totally healed, but i think i am on the right track... A few days ago, as i got up for breakfast, i had a very pleasant surprise. As i looked out the living room window, i could see something pink on my tree. i took a closer look and i just went: Ooooooh, is that a magnolia ?!? Yes, Yes, it is a magnolia !!! I was so happy and excited i told everybody to come have a look . Since i moved into this new house last october, i was wondering what kind of tree it was. I thought the foliage was very pretty and in the winter, pretty furry buds formed on the branches. My sister told me it was a willow, because of those cute buds. I wasn't really convinced, but she had a point there. Well, well, i will have to tell her she was wrong. Aren't these flowers beautiful ?
This is an adirondack chair i painted last thursday. I have four of them and they all need a good makeoever. Hubby thought they would look good all in bright happy colors. So we bought blue, yellow and bright green. I started with the blue, because i love blue best i think. I really love the end result. I am going to put three of the four near the pool and the fourth will stay on the terrace. Maybe the blue one ? I would love to make pillow seats, but have to find some nice fabrics. I am open to any suggestion as to the fabric pattern. I am still on the look out. Yesterday was a rainy day and i spent much of the day working in my studio. I am working on my giveaway project, so stay in touch, because the giveaway is coming soon. I am also working on some more muffin pie dolls.( by the way, 2 of them are flying to England tomorrow morning. Lucky girls. ) I am also working on a bunch of raggedies and other dolls. I want to make as much as possible when the weather is still not that great, because i know i won't have as much time during the hot summer months.

of kimberlys tea cottage made this giveaway and announced the winners on april 17th. I could not beleive my eyes when she wrote me to say i was one of the lucky girls ? Wow ! I never, ever win anything, so much so that this was a total surprise ! my sweet package arrived yesterday and look what i got ! Stationary cards with a tea sample in each card, an extra tea sample and a sheet of lovely tea stickers. Everything looks so sweet and yummy, i think it was a lovely surprise.

A new Banner

I woke up this morning and there was a surprise awaiting me in my email box. A wonderful friend of mine offered to make a new banner and avatar for my etsy shop and i was so excited, i had to download it in my shop right away. I thought it would look fabulous here too ! I loved my other blog banner, but i needed a new look. I know nothing about photoshop so help from Anna was a God's sent. She is such a wonderful person... I am really busy these days. The weather finally warmed and spring time is gorgeous ! I have spent a lot of time outdoors lately, working on new flower beds, my new veggie garden and herb garden. I always wanted to make a herb garden, but did not have the space at my other home. Moving to a new place is so much fun, because you are starting everything anew. And i found the perfect place for my herb garden. I will show you when everything is done. I am also sewing new projects, more dolls and other stuff. Don't forget to come back here from time to time. I still want to make my next giveaway, i just did not make my choice on the product yet.

swap goodies

I swapped once and it was really fun and nice to share something with someone else. Unfortunately, i lost track with this nice lady living somewhere in the USA. Than i swapped with Anna
and it was really, really special. Swapping is fun, especially if you still keep in touch with the person. I became very fond of Anna and i hope we can be real friends even if we are miles apart. I received her package way before i managed to send mine to her and i always meant to show you what delightful goodies she gave me. Here are all the lovely things i received from this oh ,so lovely friend.

I love the little birdie keychain she made , look at the sweet tea bag holder and you should smell the bag of "herbe de provence" and the tea !!! I did not taste the tea yet, simply because i love the package just the way it is and the smell invaded my studio, it is heavenly ! Soon i will have to indulge in a nice cup of tea in one of my best cup. Sorry, the chocolate is all gone, not one crumb remains, it was so yummy. And look at the sweet house she made. Isn't that ever adorable ? I hung it in a special place of my studio, so whenever i am there working, i can admire this adorable house and think of her. I feel privileged and very happy to have met her. Thank you Anna, you are a sweetheart!
I know, i was not suppose to blog, but to concentrate on some work. I'm going, I'm going !

I never really liked this program, but always watched it, because my hubby is such a great fan. However, i must say that this season, i never miss one program because of this talented young guy. He never ceases to surprise us every week, he is just fabulous, perfect ! I beleive he is the next american idol.
