Crayons Mitts

I bought this lovely yarn while on vacation at Cape Cod this summer and decided to knit pair of mittens for myself. I know, i am being selfish, i should knit for my daughters. But i just could not resist this luscious color. I hesitated between knitting a hat or mitts, but as i read a post on nutty irishman knits " smitten on mittens " my decision was made. I am almost done on my first mitten and i am absolutely delighted with the colorway !It is so rich and intense and the yarn is so nice to knit with. That's it ! I am smitten with mitten , i am even more smitten on Kureyon ! I will have to knit some more, I WANT A PILE OF MITTS!!! Well, maybe not all Kureyon mitts, i have so many pattern i want to try. Especially some gorgeous latvian patterns i found.

This one is not any particurlar pattern, i just wanted a simple pair so we could appreciate the colorway even more. I opted for just a simple cable pattern on the front side. I am also thinking of casting off with a kitchener stitch, seems to me it will look prettier. Mind you, i am not a very experience knitter, so i may be wrong. I will post more pictures later of the final results and after a good blocking. I have a collegue at work who is married to a japanese and she told me this morning the meaning of " Kureyon " as she was admiring the lusciouness of the yarn. It means crayons. What an appropriate name for such beautiful yarn, don't you think ?

They look lovely! I wish I could knit, but my shoulders lock up and I end up in agony. I also love the colour combination. I will always dream of being able to knit my own socks :)
